Research: Analysis of Magazine Website 2

DORSET MAGAZINE

Dorset magazines website is set out in a block form upon a plain white background. The title is set out towards the top left corner of the page set out in a bold, black font helping it to make a statement upon the page. Images are used throughout the site to help promote the articles in which the magazine has produced. The photography used is of high quality and is very appropriate for the site as it reflects the topics and themes of the magazine well. Similar to other sites, this web page features a task bar containing headings in which direct users around the site quickly and accurately. This site also promotes extra features upon it's home including things such as a newsletter sign up, most read articles and deals for subscriptions of the magazines. The colour scheme used on the site is a varied range but only used in small amounts in specific areas. The bright pink colour is promonant on the site which gives it a very femine feel but also helps to highlight important areas of text clearly.

The simple layout of the web site works well as its easy for audiences to use the page and find what they're looking for easily and quickly. I also like the simple colour schemes used on the site as it gives the site a calming and welcoming feel to readers. If I were to improve this page I would think about the bright pink colouring used on the site as too much can make the page project a very feminine feel, putting off other readers of the magazine.
